What should be done in order to prevent the Christmas tree from being set on fire?

As the Holiday season is drawing nearer and nearer, many of us are prone to making mistakes due to the Christmas rush and stress, mistakes which may result in creating a fire risk for example: a Christmas tree is one of the objects which should be taken into careful consideration in terms of avoiding a fire, it doesn’t matter if it’s artificial or real, both burn alike. Master Service Group strongly advises you to follow this short set of precautions, which will enable you to avoid paying for fire damage restoration services.

  • The Christmas tree should be stable.
  • It should be relatively far away from heaters, wood-burning stoves, fan heaters or the fireplace. The stream of hot air emitted by these devices should not flow in the direction of the Christmas tree.
  • The Christmas tree should not be put close to the curtains.
  • The Christmas tree lights can also pose a threat. The quality of the lights can make all the difference. Sparklers and candles are absolutely out of the question.
  • If an unfortunate event of a fire would occur, the priority is unplugging the Christmas tree from the electrical installation. If the fire is spreading despite the efforts to put it out, everybody should be evacuated from the household and 9-1-1 should be called.
